Product Description
Product Overview & Working Principle
The 430 stainless steel sheet is a ferritic stainless steel widely recognized for its excellent wear resistance and hardness. Produced through advanced cold-rolling and finishing techniques, including No.4 brushed, N4 matte, and 4N mirror decorative surfaces, it offers superior aesthetic appeal combined with robust mechanical properties. The sheet’s ferritic structure provides inherent magnetism and good thermal conductivity. Unlike austenitic grades, 430 stainless steel’s corrosion resistance is moderate but suitable for applications where magnetism and wear resistance are priorities.
The cold rolling process refines the metal's microstructure, improving flatness and surface finish, making it ideal for decorative and structural uses. However, it’s important to note that 430 stainless steel is generally not recommended for direct food contact due to its lower corrosion resistance and potential for heavy metal migration under certain conditions.
.
Note on Food Safety:
Although 430 stainless steel is used in some kitchen appliances, it is not considered food-grade stainless steel due to its ferritic nature and moderate corrosion resistance. Austenitic stainless steels like 304 or 316 are preferred for direct food contact items such as cutlery and cookware to ensure safety and hygiene.
Advantages
-
High Wear and Abrasion Resistance: The ferritic structure makes it ideal for applications where surface hardness is important.
-
Magnetic Properties: Useful in applications requiring magnetic response, unlike austenitic grades.
-
Customizable Thickness and Size: Available from 0.1mm to 60mm thickness and in various sheet sizes (1219×2438mm up to 2000×6000mm) to suit diverse project needs.
-
Variety of Surface Finishes: No.1, 2B, BA, 6K, 8K mirror, No.4 brushed, and hairline finishes for both functional and decorative applications.
-
Good Dimensional Tolerance: Tight ±1% tolerance ensures precision in manufacturing and installation.
-
Cost-Effective: More affordable than higher alloyed stainless steels, suitable for industrial and structural applications.
